It’s a common misconception that dry skin problems only flare up in the harsh winter months. The issue isn’t limited to a certain time of year; rather it depends on a set of environmental conditions. If your immediate environment lacks much moisture in the air, you’ll become susceptible to dry skin. Such is the case year round for people who live in dry desert climates.
If you find your work schedule interrupted by the presence of itchy appendages, it’s quite likely that dry skin is to blame. The problem is often simple enough to alleviate: just apply a liberal dose of dry skin lotion to the site of the irritation. Lotions work on two levels – they serve to cool skin that has been heated from the friction of scratching, and they moisturize to prevent future outbreaks.
